I’m really excited to be bringing you this post. When it involves beautiful art, innovation and my home town, what could be better.
Last week I was invited to the opening of the 140 ART exhibition. 12 artists and one CBD property painted 140 William Street with vibrancy and colour promising to turn many heads.
Nationally recognised artists including Phibs, Andy Quilty, Anya Brock, Amok and Pip McManus have exhibited alongside emerging local artists for 140 ART – an urban art campaign that has seen the property’s shop fronts and walls along Wellington, William and Murray Street Mall used as the artist’s canvas. I wish I could commission a piece from every artist, I just loved it.
The destination combines, food, fashion and street graffiti art. I couldn’t help but notice the amount of business people with their ‘serious head down have to get to work’ blinkers on. Some of them actually slowed down to look at the incredible art work on the buildings. Be in the moment people!
You have to get down to 140 and have a look. It’s vibrant, it’s colourful, it’s humorous and it instantly puts you in a good mood, no matter what kind of day you are having.
