The Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster.
The landscape, the people, the party, and I’m going to add…. the food!!!
I am over the moon (over the Kimbery moon really) to announce that Andrew and I are ambassadors for the 2015 Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster. We have had a love affair with the Kimberly region for over a decade and with that love affair came a desire to one day get the chance to experience one of the biggest annual events that the region has to offer, the Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster.
The Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster is currently in its 15th year. It features a line-up of over 30 events and activities over a 10 day period attracting people from all over the world including last years visit from Sir Bob Geldof. The Kununurra event showcases the best of the food, music and culture of the region, which is arguably one of the most spectacularly picturesque places in the world.
The Barramundi fishing in Kununurra is world famous and the Barra is prolific all across the Kimberly Coast. This sport like fishing will tempt even the non fisherman, like my husband. Whilst he might be amazing at cooking Barra, I do question his ability to catch them.
On the banks of Kununurra, this years Kimberly Kitchen is hosted by one of our favourite chef’s Matt Moran. Together with our very own Don Hansey the chefs will be cooking up a storm with ingredients sourced from all over the region. Matt and Don, I may have a little surprise for you. If Andrew manages to catch a Barramundi I insist he shows you his famous Twice Cooked Szechuan Barra Wings. They are insane!! I feel a little cooking demo coming on!
The Durak Homestead dinner is a long table dinner hosted by Matt Moran and Don Hansey. Having been described in 2012 by Rob Broadfield as ‘a magical evening’ I can’t wait to sit and experience what culinary delights they have for us this year.
Apart from the fishing, cooking and the eating, the pinnacle of the Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster is the Kimberly Moon Experience. This event is the final major show of the 10 day long Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster and you will be sure to find us dancing away under the light of the Kimberly moon. This year’s line up features The Living End, Dan Sultan, The Whitlams and Megan Washington. Eep!! I can’t wait!!
