Juice cleansing with Perth Raw Foodies.
What’s all the fuss about?
I see it everywhere! Everyone seems to be doing some sort of raw food, cold pressed, majorly uber organic cleanse.
Given my healthy lifestyle (most of the time) I have always been intrigued by these cleanses but have never actually participated in one.
We love to juice in the Embley houshold but could we take it as far as ONLY juicing… well that’s a completely different story.
So here I go, treading through unknown territory into the world of a high nutrient liquid cleanse.
No food, just juice, let’s go.
Yesterday, juices for the three day cleanse arrived at my door step. They look so good! I’m back at Beluga at the moment so late nights and early mornings have me feeling pretty tired when I wake but today, I’m ready to rock the cleanse.
As I get up I notice three empty containers on the kitchen bench. Kids!!!! “But they loved it!” Andrew proclaimed. That’s great hun but I need all of the juices to do the cleanse….
After my first green juice I snuck in a soy latte. There, I said it. My mothering skills relied on that coffee and it’s the last one I’ll have, pinkie promise.
So far I have been juicing all day and feeling good. I am surprised that I haven’t felt overly hungry. I keep waiting on this crazy hunger urge to kick in but so far it’s been kept at bay.
I will confess however that as I am still breastfeeding I did have a couple of snacks and I’ve been told that’s ok. A carrot and a couple of apples were perfect to appease that little bit of hunger that was lurking around.
Im off to bed now and hopefully for a massive sleep! Stay tuned, I will let you know how it all goes.
Have any of you completed a juice cleanse? What did you think of it?
