This Year I Have Become A Master Outsourcer.
How much do you actually value your time? It’s a tough question to answer as so many of us are in different stages in our lives. When it really comes down to it what so many of us have in common is that we are stretched. Between running a household, family, work and trying to look after ourselves, it’s hard to know which way to turn and what part of our life we need to let up on to get some reprieve.
In my experience, it’s the personal care that gets pushed to the side. The one part of our life that keeps us sane is usually the first thing to go. Giving up the part of us that we need the most when life gets too much. It doesn’t make much sense, does it?
I can put my hand on my heart and say that I’m absolutely guilty of this. Things like exercise or reading a book all to quickly fall to the wayside when life gets a little bit hectic. The flow on effect is that I’m not as sharp or happy as I would like to be and in turn, everyone around me gets affected.
This year I have become a master outsourcer. After coming to the realisation that I was drowning in my own self-made ‘I can do everything’ superwoman status, I knew I had to make changes. I had to value my time, set a budget and start being honest with myself about what areas of my life I could start to ask for help in.
One of the first things I did was book in a cleaner. This was a huge part of my life I felt like a failure in. I actually like having a clean and tidy home. When my house is clean, my brain is clearer, and it’s easier for me to work on my business without that nagging feeling that I should be doing the housework. I love that feeling you get when you walk into a clean and tidy home. With three small kids and finding the time to work on my businesses, I wasn’t getting to experience that ‘clean house’ feeling often.
Last week I found out UrbanYou were launching into Perth. An experienced, fully-equipped professional cleaning service you book online in under 60 seconds. Payments are direct debited straight from your account, and whether you’re a ‘set and forget’ kind of person or a ‘quick, I have guests coming’ kind of person there is an option for you.
The service is easy, reliable and one of the best ways to outsource a job that would otherwise take hours out of your life each week. Personally, I use the extra time to work in my business. This ensures I can afford the cleaner each fortnight and leaves me a little bit of time to recharge and do something that I want to do.
