Over the summer holidays we decided to stay in Perth and explore some of the glorious activities and places that Perth has on offer for the kids.
We parked at Zamia Café where we grabbed a coffee and walked through to the playground. My sisters and I have fond memories of this place as kids. There’s an island in the centre surrounded by a mote and in the ‘olden days’ you could climb a single branch from the island to the main grass area. Kids would fall in left right and centre! But we had so much fun.
The log has now been replaced by a very sensible timber walkway and a fantastic water play and cubby house has been built on the island.
Regardless of the cotton wool that seems to surround all of our out door areas now, the kids had a ball.
On the other side of the park were massive crocodile statues and dinosaurs the kids could climb and roar at. Families were completely enthralled in cricket games and badminton playoffs and there’s a phenomenal tree house I couldn’t get the kids down from.
It’s so easy to forget about these fabulous places that are just down the road.
For either a 30 minute pop in or a BBQ with friends, we can’t wait to go back.
