On Tuesday I started my quest for a tight butt and anti-tuckshop lady arms.
I really feel you must love your body first to have a healthy relationship with exercise and after three kids, I have to say I am proud of the way I am now and feel very blessed to have been given good genes.
Good genes and all, the time has come where I want to feel strong again. I really enjoy being fit and miss that feeling you get after a good workout. I love to walk and run but I’m really ready for something slightly more structured.
I have decided to start my regime with the ladies at Xtend Barre Perth. Xtend Barre for me is the ultimate workout. As much as I love pilates I also love having a bit of a sweat and I find that Xtend Barre gives you the best of both worlds.
With any exercise, it’s important to combine weight training, stretching and cardio into your workout and Xtend Barre gives me all of this in one quick hour session.
I like to exercise in the morning as I tend to make too many excuses in the afternoon and an hour is my exercise session max. Anything longer and I either get bored or feel guilty for being away from the kids. Crazy! But that’s how I feel.
My first session was at 6am and I could have made any excuse under the sun to not get out of bed. It was my birthday so I was guaranteed a sleep in. Van cut a tooth and had his vaccinations so he was hot and unsettled. He woke at 5am and wouldn’t go down without a feed and as I crawled back to bed at 5.12am it took all my energy not to turn my 5.30am alarm off. I just couldn’t shake the feeling that if I didn’t get up and commit to session one, what hope did I have of getting into a good routine. And once one excuse is made, it’s too easy to keep making them.
I went, I worked out and I loved it. Yes I might get a little bit tired but who gives a crap! I did something for me and I feel great.
