Van will be 1 at the end of May and Lux is 3 a week later.
I haven’t been the sort of mum to throw elaborate birthday parties in the past in fact, you would be lucky to get more than 48 hours notice of the impending celebration. I’m not proud of myself but that’s how I roll.
This year I have decided to make more of an effort. Well, Van’s first birthday is already 9 day’s away and I still need to set a date but at least that’s better than 48 hours!
In this post, expert DIY blogger Simone Heng takes us through an easy DIY you can do for any occasion. It’s fun, cheap and a very effective option for a kids birthday party. You can match the colours to compliment any theme.
I will be trailing this one out very soon….
DIY Felt Doily Garland with Simone Heng
You will need: Felt doilies (buy online, I got these from Coventry Village in Perth), small wire or ties, string and scissors.
Begin by creating a loop at one end of the string while keeping the other end still attached o the full spool of string.
Thread the doilies onto the string.
Lay the whole garland on the floor and space each doily evenly along the length of string. Fasten them in place with the wire and ties.
Cut the length of string and create another loop for hanging. That’s it! The garland is done and ready!
