It’s late at night. Your girlfriend has had enough and wants to go home. You walk her outside, hail a cab and send her on her way. You know you’ve done the right thing but then that voice starts, the voice in your head that questions you.
Do we trust the person driving? I forgot to get the taxi number? What if she doesn’t make it home?
Perhaps you have had to stay late at work but the idea of catching public transport at night is just scary!
Then there’s the time when you have plucked up enough courage to let your child walk to school and all you want to do is make sure they arrive safely. Did they make it?
These are just a couple of scenarios that I can really relate to so when Andrew and I were asked to be ambassadors for new public safety app ‘SafeTrip’, we jumped at the chance.
It’s simple to use, free to download and for less than the cost of a baby chino (ok, a baby chino in Perth) you can be tracked and track your loved ones from start to finish live, via the GPS map built in to the app. Simply choose your mode of transport, add any numbers relating to the service and away you go. There is even a duress button which will send all of the important details, including your exact location, in a text message to your nominated person for in the unlikely event that something happens to you (let’s hope not).
