When my husband decided to whisk me away for a weekend of wine and dancing to Diana Krall at Leeuwin Estate I couldn’t have been more excited. I was SO in need of a quick hubby get away.
First came the excitement, then the mother in me took over…. I have to organise 3 kids for a whole weekend! Not to mention breastfeeding, the dog and a restaurant that is hosting a booked out Valentines Day dinner.
Being part owner of restaurant Beluga immediately subbed out Friday night (Valentines Day). My weekend was shortened already.
Taking any of the kids for two, 3 hour drives over two days didn’t seem fair. All that time sitting in the car! They would have had a fit! So to save a lot of growling and shushing we decided to leave the kids at home, Van included.
Leaving Van meant that I was going to skip a few feeds and as I don’t own a pump anymore (or have leant it to someone and have no idea where it is) I wanted to leave after his lunch feed so that I wouldn’t be too engorged the next day.
We arrived at the Regency Beach Resort in Dunsborough at 3.45pm for a 4pm pick up. Anyone who knows me knows that this is typical Rayne style. As I pre-empted I would be in this predicament I packed my makeup bag accordingly and made sure it was well within reach of the front seat.
As we drove through Busselton I started to put my face on. Here is what was in my quick and easy car makeup kit.
Three Napolean makeup brushes, Becca polishing make-up brush for my liquid blush (here), personalised perspex clutch (here) Nars bronzing powder in Laguna (here), Becca ultimate cream eyeliner in matte black (here) Becca beach tint in Guava (here) YSL lip plumper (here) Alison Jade Sheer Glo Lotion in paradise (here) MAC studio fix fluid in NW25 (here) Lisa Ho earrings, Nars duo eyeshadow in Tzarine (here) Napolean Mesmer-Eyes mascara (here) Alison Jade Xtreme lipstick in Beatrice (here)
I felt so ‘black tie’ in my gorgeous One Fell Swoop gown. This was a collaboration piece with artist Tane Andrews and all I can say is wow! The dress’s long line made the cut super flattering and the natural gathering over the tummy made it perfect for any mummy, especially when there was dinner involved.
After to a quick breakfast we were on the road and home by 11.30am. Short, but well worth the it.
A massive thank you must go to New Town Toyota for inviting us along on this special weekend.
PS: I purchase all of my Becca Cosmetics through makeup artist Barbara Mordini.
