Friday night was my first ever StyleAid experience. Every year I have wanted to go but every year I only remember about the event after I heard about how good it was through the grapevine.
It wasn’t until late Tuesday night that Andrew reminded me about the event that was happening in 3 days. Three days!
I spent all day in the country on Wednesday as a guest of Women in Agriculture so I only had Thursday and Friday to sort myself out.
9.30: Take the kids to the park
10.15: The desperate call to Andrea (AndAndrea stylist) to explain I had nothing to wear
11.15: With three kids in tow I headed straight from the park to Me Style in Claremont and had my locks tamed from the gorgeous James. Kids were so well behaved (well I thought so). I was really proud of them.
12.30 Meet Andrea in David Jones to have a look at an outfit. It was a no go.
1.00 Rush to see Helen at Breathless in Time Square (still with three kids in toe) and proceed to stand butt naked in the change room whilst Andrea throws clothes at me and I try to make sure the kids are still behaving from behind the curtain.
1.15 Found. The perfect black tulle maxi skirt from Breathless. Carrie style….
AndAndrea does it again and Helen is a saint. What more could a woman on a mission ask for! Well….. if you really want to know, someone to help with the kids would have been good…….but we got through.
We paired it with a Sass & Bide bustier in french navy with gold embellishments.
The Mythic-themed night was held at Crown Perth and the entertainment didn’t disappoint. In between fashion shows of some of Western Australia’s best known (and my personal favourite) labels, we were entertained with the aerial delights of professional dancers. Costarella’s 2014 spring/summer collection was just one of the stand-outs at this high class black tie event and with guests donned from head to toe in gorgeous gowns, the other highlights on the catwalk including Zhivago, Ae’lkemi and One Fell Swoop.
Aside from all of the glitz and glamour, the fashion filled night was about raising much needed funds for WA Aids Council.
